Lesson Number 9

Dear seafarer adrift in your inner sea,

Do not let your infancy fade and vanish with the years, for then there will be an emptiness in you, you won't have an answer or remedy for.

Keep your infancy alive.

Do not let the child you once were fade away in your past. Instead, keep this child with you in your present days, in your adult and senior years, smiling, happy, and proud, for this child will be the only one who will embrace you on your deathbed.

Do not abandon the child you once were. Keep this child active all through your life. Keep this child always within you, alive and well. You must know that this child is God who lives inside you. The child within will help you overcome the difficult moments in your adult life and warm your colder, older years. So, you, who has walked through life contented or discontented, take a moment to walk to a quiet place, and there, under the sun or the stars, bring that child back to your present and look him in the eyes. Look yourself in the eyes. Then the Grace of God will be well upon you, and you will give thanks because you have never betrayed the child in you and have kept his dreams and innocence alive throughout your life. Amen.
