Dreams As A Measure of Character
On Dreams
Dreams are a measure of character.
For example, you dream of becoming rich and famous.
Can you do it?
Do you want to do it?
Dreams, then, are directly connected to your character: who you are, how you act and react, and what you dream to accomplish.
The thing in dreams is that it is you, and only you, who decides the outcome, so if you are serious about what you want to accomplish, your dream will transform, by the magic of your will, into a moral obligation.
Please pay attention to this if you want your dream to come to fruition.
It's true. We all have dreams, but few of us treat them like a contract.
Dreams are the ultimate measure of character. They reveal if you're committed to the process or just the prize.
1. If you quit easily, your dream was only a wish.
2. If you persevere, your dream is a demonstration of your unbreakable character.
If you don't fight for your dreams, they weren't big enough to define you. Let your effort be the evidence of your commitment.
Therefore, your character is not just what you do when no one is watching; it's what you dare to dream of when everyone is watching, and how you behave when the path gets difficult.
There. I said it!
Your dream goes through various stages as it comes into fruition. So, every step toward your goal will test your character. Be prepared for that.
Furthermore, having a model to follow always helps the dreamer. Any model in any activity of your preference, be it in sports, in finances, business, a singer, writer, musician, dancer, politician, inventor, etc., the choices, your choices, are many. So you must study and do your research on your model. As I said, it's not easy.
So, are you willing to go all the way to make your dream a reality? This question doesn't assess your talent; it measures your resilience and self-worth.
1. If you dream small, it might reflect a character who fears failure more than they crave success.
If you dream big, even if you're terrified, it shows a character that is willing to endure discomfort, face doubt, and embrace the grind. It reveals the capacity for courage and perseverance.
Also, how many times are you willing to restart after a failure?
And thus, do you want to do it? This question is a test of your authenticity and dedication.
1. Do you want the outcome (the applause, the title, the wealth), or do you like more the work (the early mornings, the difficult conversations, the persistent effort)?
A strong character commits to the process, not just the prize. It means pursuing a dream because it aligns with your deepest values, even when it's inconvenient or unpopular, which is the measure of your integrity.
And so, do you think that dreams make a character strong, or is a character strong because of dreams?
