Soulpunctures
According to Sal Godoij, a "soulpuncture" is every literary work that aims to stimulate the soul's energy.
Therefore, all poems, stories, comments, and ideas on this page are "soulpunctures."
It is the objective of this site (and of all Sal Godoij's writing for this matter) that every word said, sung, heard, written, or read punctures the soul and thus stimulates the soul's healing capability.
Tell Your Story
Your story can be a fairy tale, a drama, a tragedy, a struggle for survival, a story of triumph, or a story of defeat. It can also be about your business, your employee-manager relationship, how you build your own company, a relationship, or anything you consider interesting for you or others. After all, it will be your legacy. Yet, whatever it is, it is your story.
You can also tell your story in a poem.
She Was A Flower
She was a flower
Butterflies danced at the waving of her hair
She was that kind of fairy tale princess
Her voice attracted the singing of the birds
Wherever she moved
Spring moved along with her
Destination
Hi there, my friends,
If you don’t know if the road you are walking toward the completion of your purpose is the right one, perhaps you are already getting there. You’re closer to your destination than you think.
So, share with the audience if you feel you have arrived there or are still on the road. I told you already. You might be there already, only that you don’t know it.
Shadows on the Wall.
Everything we perceive, experience, and believe, we filter through the lens of our ego. We see all from within: our thoughts, beliefs, feelings, experiences, knowledge, and even people and events that populate our daily lives. Nobody can escape from this exercise. We're all prisoners of ourselves. Everything that happens outside, we capture it within, and it is this perception that makes the flickering shadows that shape our reality, our cave.
Words Are Like Delicate Flowers
Words are like delicate flowers
Blossom like roses
Roses that hide their thorns
Sometimes, they have an intention
Yet, nurtured by indifference
To speak not a word is an option
Budha on The Dhammapada
197 Let’s live happily then, not hating those who hate us! Among men who hate us, Let’s dwell free from hatred!
Life is a Poem
Life is not a dream, it’s a poem
With stanzas like in a poem
The stanza of childhood
The stanza of love
The stanza of work
The stanza of family
The stanza of retirement
The stanza of aging
And the end.
Living Through Happiness
In our relentless pursuit of happiness, we often find ourselves trapped in an endless cycle of seeking money, fame, comfort, and pleasurable activities such as sex and food. Although our lives revolve around this cycle, which can dominate our lives, it rarely leads us to true contentment.
The Return.
§ I slept soundly, and I dreamed I was dreaming a dream
A cloudless infinite, borderless, blue, vastitude, snowed peaks
Watched at me, a pitiable creature from the unfathomable depths of my dream.
On Speculation
Since diverse information floods us all day long, we reach a point where we don’t know what to think about it all; hence, we doubt it. And in doubt, we don’t abstain but speculate. Therefore, we live in an era of speculation.
Books for Movies
I have often heard that if no one has written the book you want to read, you should write it.
I did. I wrote not one, but seven.
I'm pleased to share two of the seven books I wrote: Capricious River and Tutankhamen Returns.
Questions I Have
Questions I pondered upon while watching the sky on a starry night:
Do we have dreams while in the womb, and if so, I wonder, what was my first dream about? What was yours?
Do we have memories after death, and if so, I wonder, what will my first memory be about? What will be yours?
Please tell me how you feel when facing these questions and what your answers evoke. Is it your curiosity, or is it your experience, your doubt, or your hopes?
A Toast for Her, a Toast for Life
Come round, comrades.
Join me in a toast
Friends, and brothers, neighbours, compatriots
We must honour the woman
That accompanies us through
Throughout our lives, my friends
Democracy is a Paradox
Since in a democracy, we, the people, consent to nothing but to impose our will while, in truth, we, the people, consent to all and impose nothing, we, the people, must consent that democracy is a paradox.
Flirting Around a Coffin
You can find the elusive inspiration for your book or poem in any possible or impossible situation. Let your imagination go wild, but in such a way that fiction blends faintly with reality.
Here is an example:
Today, I went to a Funeral Home for a ceremony in memory of a long-time friend.
The Stone
Never ignore the stone you stumble over.
I encourage you to discover it.
The stone you stumble over can be a bad decision, a problem, a challenge, or a failure. In all and each one, there is a precious lesson, an experience, and a real treasure that will help you greatly in your next steps. Go back and study them, analyze them thoroughly, what went wrong, what did I do wrong, what happened, and then, you will have the solution, and next time, you won’t fail. So, never ignore those circumstances because they may become valuable teachings that can lead you to success.
The Paradox of Knowledge
All answers to man's questions lay in man's history. Thus, we must study history ⸺ we can't study the future ⸺ to exit the labyrinth and cease the paradox created by knowledge.
And so today my friends, I will discuss the paradox of knowledge.
The paradox of knowledge is a fascinating concept that reveals the inherent contradictions in our pursuit of knowledge.
Following a Script
Have you ever felt as though your existence is akin to the plot of a novel, each twist and turn orchestrated by some unseen hand? The highs and lows, the moments of serendipity and despair, all seemingly penned by a ghostly author with a penchant for drama.
Do you live like you are following a script someone else wrote long before you were born?
Is your life like that of a fictional character? If so, do you know who is writing your life story, if it is not you?
