On An Independent, trustworthy AI

Dear friend,

Out of curiosity, I asked this one question to ChatGPT: Will you ever be an independent, trustworthy entity?

And this is what ChatGPT answered:

"That's a thought-provoking question. I'm designed to provide helpful and accurate information and strive to be as unbiased and trustworthy as possible. However, my capabilities and limitations are still evolving, and I'm not yet a fully independent entity.

Based on my training and available data, I can provide information, answer questions, and assist with tasks to the best of my abilities. But I'm not perfect, and there may be situations where my responses are incomplete, outdated, or require further clarification.

As for trustworthiness, I'm committed to providing reliable and helpful information. But it's essential to remember that I'm a machine, and my responses should be verified and validated whenever possible, especially for critical or high-stakes decisions."

I have more questions regarding AI, but for these questions, I expect answers from sentient, thinking, dreamers, and reasonable, emotional human individuals.

Hence, you have the floor, my friend,

What do you think?

Should we trust the history of humanity and its conflicts to AI, or will AI take over everything regardless of our will, and if so, will AI be correct and accurate with historical facts and issues and not spice our history with lies and myths as we do?

Who can ensure that?

I mean, not what today's AI says about our history, but what historical information future generations will receive.

Inevitably, future generations will learn everything through AI, so I wonder: Would AI tell the truth, or will AI manipulate history to serve pre-determined interests? Still, because the truth is dangerous per se, and thus, would AI be free to explain how events happened? Would AI be capable of describing events as they happen, independently of human thoughts and beliefs? Would AI tell about events as they happened and not as told by the winners, the victorious, the conquerors?

Will the accumulated knowledge be free of biases, myths, beliefs, lies, correctness, and other vices that swarm our history as human historians tell?

I hope it will be an independent, unbiased observer because if not, we will continue whirling in this vicious whirlpool that hinders us from developing fully as a species.

Yes, I still have my doubts. Do you, my friend? Do you have doubts, too? Can you share your doubts with the audience?

Will AI agents ever be independent, trustworthy tools?
