Beginnings

Dear seafarer adrift in your inner sea,

Everything in life has an origin and an end.

Beginnings are good. Don’t be afraid to start or restart. No matter what, what lies ahead is a new road. An empty road. Henceforward, throughout all your walk through the path of life, keep the good beginnings alive, grow them, grow in them, grow with them. These beginnings are self-respect, respect for other people and property, buying knowledge about yourself and what surrounds you, and compassion for yourself and others. With your beginnings always present, you will walk through life with a strong sense of what is good and wrong.

Then you will become wiser to remain stable in the wavering moods of existence.

·       Beware of your emotions. Pay heed to where they are taking you. Keep constantly in mind that you are a child of the universe. You are not here on Earth by chance. Therefore, do not see yourself in others. So, do not judge, compare with, or imitate others. Instead, seek satisfaction in who you are.

·       Cultivate yourself. There are no excuses for not doing this. Cultivate virtues, cultivate righteousness, cultivate morals, encourage discipline, and nurture faith in yourself, which is faith in God.

·       Read. If you do not have books, read the leaves of the trees, read the stars. Learn to read the soul of your neighbour. Anyone can see our soul through our eyes if they pay attention. In everybody’s eyes, there are sparks of the world’s wisdom. Fight the adverse circumstances in your life with this wisdom. Do not bend to evil, which is at your every step.

·       Do the above, and you will never feel lonesome in a crowd, you will never feel abandoned by your community If there is nobody you can talk to, speak to the universe, and the stars will listen to you, the water will listen to you, the wind will carry your voice, and sunsets and sunrises will pay heed to your dreams.
