Free Will

(A poem by Sal Godoij.)

O Lord, turn your sight over here

Watch how bad your children behave

As it seems that the punishment you inflicted

First, the flood and then Sodom and then Gomorrah

Upon man for his behaviour

Did not seem to affect him

Whose offences in those times

Mild transgressions were they

To your Divine Code

As if you compare them to man's behaviour

In the last century and a quarter, and to date

For every effort made through these years

Man did not make it to honour you

But to destroy one neighbour and another

By the hundreds, by the thousands, by the millions

And the Earth with it.

O Lord, why did you give man his power

If you did not teach him the limits

Of his free will?

Sal is a Canadian writer, philosopher, poet, and indie publisher, author of a thought-provoking narrative that contains mystical messages. Sal believes in miracles, which he claims have accentuated his life, so many of his stories reflect these portents. Sal sustains that we all have a message to divulge in this life. Thus, he encourages us to make our voice heard, firstly in our inner self, then on to our neighbours, and henceforward into the universe.
