A Note on Writing “Tutankhamen Returns!”

Questions for you: How do you choose the subject of your novel? What inspires you? Do you believe in channelled information, I mean, a voice that comes to you in dreams to reveal to you extraordinary details, persons, places, and events? Does this voice motivate you to write? I would love to start a discussion on this topic.
I am pleased to share with you my experience writing “Tutankhamen Returns!
The story of Tutankhamen (or Tutankhamun as many spell his name, as well) came to me suddenly, I confess. Was it channelled information? It might have been. So, the question would be, why me? Why was I the one whom the ancient Egyptian Pharaoh contacted through my dream? I don’t know. As I said, it is a plausible, although incredible, experience for the believers of channelling phenomena. Tutankhamen speaking to me, that is.
One morning, I woke up with a strong urge to write what someone was dictating to me. A voice was disclosing private details of events that happened in the remote past. I did not know what it was about or who was speaking to me. The words came one after the other, like an interminable thread, as if someone, a juvenile masculine voice, were dictating them to me.
As I said, it was later that day, upon thorough research, that I learned it was Tutankhamen, the ancient Egyptian Pharaoh, who had spoken to me, his voice, presence, and experience moving through the layers of time. Was I surprised by it? Of course, I was.
I had never had much interest in Ancient Egyptian history, least of all about Tutankhamen. I was familiar with some general facts about Ancient Egypt that I had learned in high school history class. However, there was nothing profound. So, since my high school days, about fifty years have passed, and nothing in those years has been related, directly or indirectly, to Tutankhamen, until that morning.
Before Tutankhamen’s story, I wrote a short, tragic love story about Nourelianne, a princess from an ancient lost civilization, and her slave servant Hazhid. I think it was then that I made a connection with those otherworldly, ancient realms, because it was just after this story that Tutankhamen came to me with the extraordinary details and language that make this a unique story.
To introduce Tutankhamen’s life story in the book, I included the characters of Julian and his friends, who were interested in communicating with the spirits of deceased persons, and Julian’s grandfather, who, upon his death, left Julian a diary containing the keywords to contacting Tutankhamen.
Besides telling you how much I would love you to read Tutankhamen’s story, I wanted to ask you: what inspires you? Where does your inspiration to write a subject come from? As I said, mine comes in dreams, sometimes.
