On Love and Silence

(A poem by Sal Godoij.)

Silence your thoughts

Open the gates of love

And let it flow

For love is born from the silence
But not from the silence of the voice
Not from the silence of the words
Love is born from the silence
Of thoughts

Love surges instantaneous

Extemporaneous

A kiss cancels all thoughts

Every reasoning

When you stop thinking

You remove all barriers

And everything within you gets silent

Then you can listen to the murmurs of love

Emerging, surging, alive

You stop thinking
But this does not mean you cease to exist
It means love rises forth. stronger
It is born, it grows, it unfolds
And never dies

To the silence of your thoughts
Follows the silence of your heart
And your spirit will soar

To the highest levels you’ve ever dreamed to reach

For love is not made by thoughts alone
Nor does it belong only to those who speak of love
No.

Love is born from the silence
Of thoughts
Of words
Of sunsets and starry nights

Of rainbows

Love is born from quietude and solitude
That’s why, my brother, my sister
I invite you to love with a clear mind
With a peaceful heart
With a quiet voice
And your love will become a delicate vessel
Which contains a purifying wine

That with a trembling hand

You will offer like a chalice of love

To your loved one.
