Satan’s Ego

These apocryphal scriptures speak about the unknown but possible arrangement that took place in the Celestial Quarters during the Creation of Man.

Chapter One – At the Beginning.

In those times at the beginning of days, Satan was envious of the Earth's beauty. And so, he wanted to destroy the Earth but could not. There was a higher power that protected it. Frustrated, full of fury and hate, the Devil stormed the Lord's Chambers and demanded the immediate Earth's destruction.

But the Lord, the Great Maker of All Things, received him in peace and benevolence. And this saith the Lord unto the Prince of Darkness: "'Be still, O Satan, and hold thy peace. For behold, I shall create man and make him in my image. But I shall not make man perfect; if I do, it might rebel against me. No. I shall not make man perfect, but I want him to grow independent of thou and me, for he will have his own will, and the Earth shall be his property. Thus, I shall make man the King of Creation."

"But, my Lord," Satan objected, stunned by this revelation," A new creature, this man!"

"Relax, Satan. If thou promise me not to interfere with man, I shall allow thee to have a piece of him where thou shall shelter until the end of days."

Satan calmed down and smiled sardonically because he had just come up with the idea of using man to destroy the Earth.

"I promise," Satan saith, "But, O Lord, allow me to choose what part of man I should shelter in."

"Of course, Satan. Which part would you take? Would it be his heart? His mind? His hands?

"Not a physical part, O Lord. But since man shall possess free will, I would rather shelter in his ego, until the end of the days."

"In his ego?" God saith caught in surprise, and Satan nodded, while a disdainful spark surfaced in his deep eyes.

"But I shall put nothing in there that could be of your advantage, Satan." God saith, "Thou hast chosen wrong this time."

Satan assented, but saith nothing.

"So be it," The Lord saith.

And thus, the Lord created man, and Satan came to reside in man's ego.

Since then, each time man says "I" and "mine," it's Satan doing the talking.
