Lesson 1

Dear seafarer adrift in your inner sea,

I speak to you, the humble, the needy, the repressed, and the tortured.

And I also talk to those who feel are in a higher place than their neighbours, either because of money, power, skills, health, etc.

I say that there is nothing different among us all. There are no lower or higher levels in humankind. Facing the same problems, we are all equals. For instance, I speak to you about hate,

compassion, and courage. We find hate, compassion, and courage in all humans, distributed in each at different degrees, true, but we are all equal at birth.

Nobody brings hate from birth. Hate is an issue that adults teach, and children learn. Therefore, we should all strive to reach the origin of hate⸺, which in the general sense is fear and jealousy in the personal sense.

We should treat hate as we treat the worst of cancers, for hate is cancer that corrodes the soul.

So, to overcome hate, we need courage and compassion.

Courage to confront hate and compassion to understand it.

The worst thing is that hate develops under the skin and can go undetected for years, slowly annihilating its carrier. When it bursts out, no remedy is possible, for the force of accumulated hate can be as strong as a most destructive tsunami, leaving only sorrow and desolation in its wake.

Therefore, it’s urgent to find a cure to this cancer, which is hate.

We must do so, the faster the better, because the entire world is at risk, as hate once metastasized, destroys the brain, bones, and heart of society in the blink of an eye.
